Director of Human Resources 

Location: Central CA ( Open to relo candidates )  

Pur client is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead and manage all aspects of HR operations for a healthcare system. This position plays a key role in aligning HR strategy with organizational goals, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with healthcare labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and workforce development

  • Partner with leadership on strategic staffing, retention, and employee engagement initiatives

  • Oversee policy development, labor relations, and compliance with federal and California labor laws (FMLA, FEHA, OSHA, etc.)

  • Manage credentialing, training, and HR systems (HRIS/LMS)

  • Develop and implement programs focused on burnout prevention, staff resilience, and professional growth

  • Utilize data analytics to track workforce trends and inform decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or Healthcare Administration required (Master’s preferred)

  • 5+ years of progressive HR management experience in a healthcare or hospital setting (7+ years accepted with an Associate’s degree)

  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws and healthcare HR regulations

  • Experience in union environments and labor relations strongly preferred

  • HR certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or CHHR) highly desirable

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
